Jessie Lawrence Long: Tabor City

    Jessie Lawrence Long of Tabor City died Saturday, June 29, in his home. He was 88.
    Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Lacy Wayne Long and Mattie Martha Puckett Long. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
    He is survived by his wife, Myrtle G. Long of Tabor City; three daughters, Susan Johnson and husband Eldred of Loris; Beth Mclean of Calabash; Barbara Ann Wright and husband David of the Bethel Community; a brother, Aubrun Long of Goose Creek; three sisters, Zula Stocks of Tabor City, Ruth Price of Wilson, Carolyn Ward of Ash; two grandchildren, Kathy Gwynn of Hanahan, Lawrence Johnson and wife Jennifer of Myrtle Beach; a great-grandchild, Laycie Gwynn; and a special niece, Annie Pearl King.
    Mr. Long was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
    Graveside services were planned for 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, in the Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Clarendon, with family to receive friends following the service.
