Catherine Wood Prince Long: Wilmington

    Catherine Wood Prince Long of Wilmington died Wednesday, June 26. She was 87.
    She was born May 21, 1926 to William Jethro Wood and Emily Cook Wood.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
    She is survived by her sons, James Ronald “Ronnie” Prince and Frank Wood; sister Pecolia Marie Gaskins; brother, Rev. Joseph Raymond Wood; many nieces and nephews; and great- nieces and great-nephews.
    Preceding her in death are her parents, William Jethro Wood and Emily Cook Wood, husbands, James Lesteree Prince and Baldie Elwood Long; sisters, Claudia Smith and Virginia Livingston; and brothers, Thomas and Frank Wood.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
