Virgie Marie Mincey Boone

    Virgie Marie Mincey Boone of Loris passed away Thursday, July 11, at her home following an illness. She was 76.
    Mrs. Virgie was born on September 7, 1936 in Loris, SC to James Alton Mincey and Dollie Beatrice McDaniels Mincey. Mrs. Boone was the owner and operator of The Coffee Shop in downtown Loris from 1973 until she retired in 2005. Virgie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
    Survivors include her two daughters, Wanda B. Royals and friend, Randy Almond of Loris, and Rhonda B. Royals and husband, Pete, of Conway; a son, Mitchell J. “Mickey” Boone and wife, Lynn, of Loris; four granddaughters, Melissa R. Bracey and husband, Wiley, Kayla N. Royals, Amanda M. Royals and Linsey B. Caines and husband, Johnathan; two step-granddaughters, Whitney and Alexis Stalvey; one great-grandson, Bradley J. McKeever; three brothers, Franklin L. Mincey and wife, Carolyn, of Wilmington; James A. Mincey and wife, Val, of Norwood, and Johnnie L. Mincey and wife, Gwen, of Loris; three sisters, Sally M. Tyler of Loris, Shirley M. Guyton of Lake Waccamaw, and Sarah Geneva Mincey Spivey and husband, Tom, of Whiteville, and special friend and caregiver, Barbara Barnhill.
    Mrs. Virgie was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jack Hershel Boone; six brothers, James A. Jr., William H., Burnie R., Davis W., Wayne and Brice O. Mincey and one sister, Judy M. Greenawalt.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 12, at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Loris First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Kinlaw and Rev. Fred Holmes officiating. Committal services were to follow at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
