Joseph “Joe” Nathaniel Watson: Henrico, Va.

    Joseph “Joe” Nathaniel Watson of Henrico, Va., passed away Saturday, July 13 at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, Va. He was 85.
    Mr. Watson was born on May 12, 1928 in Wilmington the son of the late LeRoy Watson and the late Amanda Florence Lee Watson.  
    Mr. Watson served his country with courage and honor in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of WWII.
    Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Blannie Strickland Watson of Henrico, Va.; his son, Charles “Chuck” Watson of Quinton, Va.; his daughter, Mona Watson Burk of Henrico, Va.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church near Loris with Pastor Dean Cartrette and Rev. Clifford Strickland officiating. Committal services, with Masonic Rites conferred by Loris Lodge #205 AFM, were to follow at Little Bethel Cemetery.
