Petition charges juvenile with sexual battery

    Sexual battery and false imprisonment charges against a local teen are contained in a juvenile petition obtained Monday, Chief Donald Dowless of the Tabor City Police Department said.
    Capt. Russell Conway obtained the petition against the 15-year-old male following a July 8 incident at Body Shapers fitness center on Live Oak Street.
    A female employee of the business was uninjured, but clearly shaken after the mid-afternoon incident, Conway’s report said.
    Tabor-Loris Tribune does not typically identify juvenile suspects or victims of sex related crimes.
