Samuel Elwood Hearl: Conway

    Samuel Elwood “Spook” Hearl of Conway, age 74, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, at his home following an illness. He was 74.
    Mr. Hearl was born on Aug. 16, 1938 in Conway, to Samuel William Hearl and Flory Grace Shackaford Hearl. 
    Mr. Hearl served his country with honor and courage in the United States Army during the Korean War, he retired as a supervisor with T.S. Ragsdale Company and was of the Holiness Faith.
    Survivors include his wife, Daisy Lou Long Hearl of the home; three daughters, Jean Lowrimore and husband, Melvin of Gresham, Shonda Bourne and husband, Richard of Plantersville, and Linda Canada and husband, Joseph of Conway; six grandchildren including special granddaughter and caretaker, Brittany Canada; nine great grandchildren; three brothers, Clifton, George, and William Hearl all of Conway, and four sisters, Elizabeth Hearl of Marion, Maryland Graham, Flory Boone and Margaret Simmons all of Conway.
    Mr. Hearl was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Donnie Hearl and one sister, Mary Grace Hearl.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
    Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in the Hardwick Memorial Chapel in Loris with Rev. Darrell Langston and Rev. Buddy Seay officiating.
    Committal services followed at Westside Gardens in Conway.
