Murrell McDowell: Loris

    Murrell McDowell of Loris passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7. He was 93.
    Mr. McDowell was born in the Daisy community a son of the late Joe McDowell and the late Ida Hardee McDowell.  
    He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
    He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys C. McDowell; four brothers, Lawrence McDowell, Worth McDowell, Ralph McDowell, and J. F. McDowell.
    Survivors include two daughters, Audress Hill of Bluffton and Martha Smith of Loris; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul McDowell of Loris.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
    A graveside service with military honors was planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 in the Twin City Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Tim Osment officiating.
