William Wayne “Bud” Tyler: Loris

    William Wayne “Bud” Tyler of Loris passed away Thursday, Aug. 1 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill., following a sudden illness. He was 69.
     Mr. Tyler was born on June 29, 1944 in Loris to Giles Ivy Tyler and Ruth Priscilla DeBois Tyler.
    Mr. Tyler worked as a farmer and was a longtime member of Cane Branch Baptist Church but will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
    Survivors include his wife, Shirley Martin Tyler of the home; two daughters, Sharen Watson and husband, Michael, of Chicago, Ill., and Melissa Tyler Todd of Loris; two sons, Wayne Tyler and wife, Heidi and Rusty Lewis and wife, Kim, all of Loris; 10 grandchildren, JenaShay Russell and husband, Rashay and Le’Shandon Watson all of Chicago, Ill., Ethan and Addison Todd, Ivy, William, Hallie and Giles Tyler, Hunter McCoy and Jamison Lewis all of Loris; one great-grandchild, Leah Russell; brother, Lloyd Tyler of Conway, and two sisters, Brookie Patrick of Roanoke Rapids, and Merle Williams of Longs.
    In addition to his parents, Mr. Tyler was predeceased by one daughter, Erica Nicole Tyler; three brothers, Irlon and Eugene Tyler and Clyde Stevens and six sisters, Vera Suggs, Earlene Duncan, Loraine Causey, Geraldine Inman, Odetha Suggs, and Magnolia Quick.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
    Graveside services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at Cane Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jon Johnson and Reverend Alton Cribb officiating.
