Andrew “Ander” Fowler: Clarendon

Andrew Jasen “Ander” Fowler of Clarendon died Monday evening, Aug. 12, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center in Whiteville. He was 82.
Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Elihue and Molcie Belle Cox Fowler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Sha Fowler, David Fowler, Wade Fowler, Frank Fowler and Glenn Fowler and three sisters: Caroline Fowler, Grace Ward and Ruth Spivey.
He is survived by his wife Flaudia Godwin Fowler; three daughters, Iris McPherson of Clarendon, Betty F. Cartrette and husband Bobby of Clarendon and Diane F. McPherson and husband Danny of Chadbourn; a brother, Worth Fowler of Maryland; a sister, Nellie Wright of Maryland; four granddaughters, Cassie Hoffman and Danielle McPherson of Chadbourn, Andrea “Andi” McPherson and Faith Cartrette of Clarendon; and one great-grandson, Noah Hoffman.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, in Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Seay and Rev. Bobby Cartrette officiating. Burial was to follow in McPherson Cemetery.
