Betty Gore: Nakina

    Betty Jo Gore of Nakina died Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Whiteville. She was 75.
    Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt White and Mary Canady White. She was preceded in death by one sister, three brothers and one son-in law.
    She is survived by her husband Billy L. Gore; one daughter, Sheila Smith of Laurinburg; two sons,  Chris Gore of Cheraw, and Billy Joe Gore of Lake Wylie; one brother, Elbert White of Marlboro County, Md.; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
    Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 in Bethesda United Methodist Church, Nakina wotj Rev. Ken Sides officiating. Burial was to follow in the church cemetery.  
    The family planned to receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.
