Floyd Hilburn: Tabor City

     Floyd Hilburn of Tabor City died Friday, Aug. 23 in Columbus Regional Healthcare, Whiteville. He was 74.
     Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Gertie Mae Gore Hilburn and Rueban Hilburn. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah Norris and Brenda Hilburn.
    He is survived by his wife, Flora Lee Hilburn; six daughters, Wilma Turbeville, Bonnie Ferreira and Rita Phipps all of Tabor City, Wanda Godwin of Clarendon, Judy Hilburn of Whiteville, and Kay Sellers of Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Arthur Hilburn of Tabor City and Brookie Hilburn of High Point; two sisters, Irene Shaver of Texas and Katheleen Floyd of North Myrtle Beach; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
    Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City.
    Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, in the Inman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Nobles officiating. Burial was to follow in Myrtle Green Cemetery.
