Preston Douglas Paul: Loris

    Preston Douglas Paul of Nathan Drive, Loris, passed away Saturday Aug. 31 at Loris Extended Care Center. He was 95.
    Mr. Paul was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Horry County, a son of the late John Brooks Paul and the late Mary Eleanor Shelley Paul.
    He was a US Army veteran of World War II and was a longtime member of Simpson Creek Primitive Baptist Church
    He was was predeceased by three sisters: Elizabeth Hardee, Ruby Dorman and Maude Radford and two brothers: Edsel Paul and John Paul. He was also predeceased by his first wife: Alice Small Paul and his second wife: Flossie Stevens Paul.
    Survivors include two sisters: Betty Stanley of Hendersonville, and Hilda Holt Butler of Parkton.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Simpson Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder George Paul and Elder Carlton Brown officiating. Burial, with military honors, followed in the Holly Hill Cemetery.
