David Earl Ivey: Sanford

    David Earl Ivey of Sanford died Tuesday in his home. He was 78.
     Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Sam David and Alburna Duncan Ivey.  
     He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Walton Ivey; a son, Steven Ivey of Charlotte; a brother, Thomas Ivey of North Carolina; two sisters, Judy Grimes of Wilmington, and Eveleen Robinson of Sanford.
     Visitation was planned from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City.
     Graveside services were to follow at 4:30 pm. in Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Rev. Buster Benton officiating.
