William “Bill” Barry Rogers: Wilmington
William “Bill” Barry Rogers of Wilmington died Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter. He was 81.
Born in Mullins, he was the the son of the late Samuel Thurston and Berlyne Blanton Rogers. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956, was a high school teacher and coach in Wampee-Little River and Whiteville and worked in business.
Visitation was planned from 12;30 to 1:30 pm.. on Friday, Sept. 6, at Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City.
A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Margaret Hockett, Associate Pastor of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, was to follow at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Nichols.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rogers’ name to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center,1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401 or Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1401 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC 28405.
