Callie “Peggy” Grainger Strickland: Green Sea

    Callie “Peggy” Grainger Strickland of Green Sea died Tuesday, Sept. 17 in Loris Extended Care. She was 89.
    Born in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Amanda Fowler and Samuel McDuffie Grainger.
    Mrs. Strickland was a farmer, plant worker and homemaker.  She was a lifetime resident of the Carolina Community and a lifetime member of Carolina Baptist Church.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Strickland was predeceased by her husband Glimpsey B. Strickland; her brothers:  Walker, Dewey, James, Mack and Ashton and a sister Charity G. Wright.
    She is survived by a son, Sammy and wife Ann of Mt. Olive; a granddaughter, Pamela S. Coker and husband Jamie; a great granddaughter, Kendall; and great grandson, Shane, all of Holly Springs.
    Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 in the Inman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Carolina Church Cemetery, Green Sea.
    Visitation was planned for one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
