Zula Long Stocks: Tabor City
Zula Long Stocks of Tabor City died Saturday, Sept. 28, in Liberty Commons Nursing Home in Whiteville. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Lacy Wayne Long and Martha “Mattie” Thomas Puckett Long, she was the widow of Henry Carl Stocks.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jester of Oak Ridge; two sons, Carl Wayne Stocks of Boston, Mass and Mark Thomas Stocks of Tabor City; a brother, Nealy Augburn Long of Goose Creek; two sisters, Ruth Long Price of Wilson and Carolyn Long Ward of Ash; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lacy Norwood Long, Jessie Lawrence Long, and Harry Thomas Long; two sisters, Mary Thomas “Tommie” Long and Roma Long.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Tabor City Baptist Church, with burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery in Tabor City.
Visitation planned for one hour prior to the service, in the church.
