Lindsey Hursey, Jr.: Loris

Lindsey “Junior” Alex Hursey, Jr., of Loris passed away Friday, Oct. 4, at his home following an illness. He was 78.
Mr. Hursey was born on May 31, 1935 in Biscoe to the late Lindsey Alex Hursey, Sr. and the late Margie Campbell Hursey. He retired as a truck driver and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Ida Pearl Todd Hursey of the home; one son, Wade Hursey and wife, Rita of Loris; three daughters, Brenda Gail Hardee and husband, Carlton, Diane Alverez and Judy Lynn Bellamy all of Loris; two grandsons, Robert Wayne Batchelor and Timmy Perritt both of Loris who he raised as his own; one brother, Thomas Lee Hursey and wife, Pauline of Conway; seven sisters, Patricia “Pat” Dunn and husband, Johnny of Loris, Barbara Cook of Ellerbe, NC, Rachel Dinko of Moncks Corner, Ethel Mae Humphrey of Jacksonville, Carolyn Goins and husband, George of Lexington, SC, Faye Simmons and husband, Clyde of Rockingham and Linda K. Seagraves and husband, Thomas of Ellerbe, NC and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hursey was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Betty Adams and Ruby Stanley.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 7 at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Ghent officiating. Committal services followed in Twin City Memorial Gardens.
