Bog-Off’s big day is near

By JOYCE GRAHAM
Two down, the best yet to come.
Bingo and move events took place Tuesday and Thursday, but the biggest part of the Loris Bog-Off Festival is Saturday.
Spaghetti and Bingo was Tuesday night at the Center for Health & Fitness, with plenty of prize-winners reaping the rewards of generous sponsors.
Movie Night in the Park on Thursday featured an outdoor showing of Despicable Me on a huge, blow up screen.
Saturday, of course, is the main event with an opening ceremony at 9 a.m., fireworks at 8:45 p.m., and plenty to see, taste and do in between.
Expect vendors everywhere downtown, entertainment on two stages, and country music featuring Eric Paslay on the main stage at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will follow his show.
Cooking contest winners and Chicken Clucking competitors will take the main stage at 3:45 p.m.
