Clarence H. Cox: Loris

    Clarence H. Cox of Loris passed away Monday, Nov. 18. He was 85.
    Mr. Cox was born in Loris, a son of the late Grady Cox and the late Lena Prince Cox.  
    He was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. He was a retired educator with Horry County Schools.  
    Mr. Cox was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Betha Todd Cox; two brothers, H. G. Cox, Jr., and Elton Cox; and one sister, Shirley Cox.
    Survivors include his four children, Gail C. Stevens of Cary, Grant Cox of Florence, Sharon C. Vaught and Carole C. Tyler, both of Longs; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at Lawndale Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Twin City Memorial Gardens.
