Dorothy Ella Best Vaught: North Myrtle Beach
Dorothy Ella Best Vaught of North Myrtle Beach passed away Thursday, Dec. 12 at Agape Senior in York. She was 92.
Vaught, formerly of Longs and North Myrtle Beach, was born on Oct. 2, 1921 in Lumberton, Miss., to Mr. Carver Browning Best and Mrs. Nannie Leona Britt Best.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Vaught Oliver of McConnells; her son, Robert Whitney Vaught, Jr. of Blowing Rock; four granddaughters; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren and three sisters, Olene Russ of Columbia, Kate Blac of Jacksonville, Fla., and Evelyn Cox of Archdale.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaught was predeceased by her step-mother, Stella Butler Best; her husband, Robert Whitney Vaught, Sr. and her brother, Lowell C. Best.
Graveside services were held 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Reverend Haywood Fowler officiating.
