Needham Thomas Todd: Loris

    Needham Thomas Todd of Loris passed away Friday, Dec. 13 at Conway Manor following an illness.  He was 87.
     Born on Oct. 6, 1926 in Loris, he was the son of the late Mr. George Thomas Todd and the late Mrs. Callie Cox Todd. 
    Mr. Todd served his country with courage and honor in the United States Army during WWII, retired from farming and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Throughout his life, Mr. Todd served his community with distinction as a member of the D.A.V., he was on the Advisory Board at Daisy Elementary, the FHA board, the board at Farm Bureau and the Simpson Creek Watershed Committee.
    Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Hardee Todd of Loris; two sons, Dale Todd and wife, Debra and Edwin Todd, all of Loris, SC; three grandchildren, Kim Sweatt and husband, Chris of Myrtle Beach, Kevin Todd and Brandon Todd and his wife, Kristen all of Loris; one great-grandchild, C.J. Sweatt; his sister, Frances Todd Cox of Loris; five brothers, Austin Todd of Loris, Winfred Todd and wife, Lynn of Gwynn, Va., Wofford Todd of Goose Creek, SC, Daniel Walton Todd and wife, Catherine of Lancaster, SC and Lawton Todd and wife, Hilda of Loris.
    Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mack Hutson officiating.  Committal services  followed at Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
