Norman Eugene Holt: Conway

    Mr. Norman Eugene Holt of Conway passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 22, at his home following an illness. He was 85.
    Born on July 19, 1928 in Conway, he was the son of Mr. Willie Greer Holt and Mrs. Carrie Edge Holt. Mr. Holt served his country with courage and honor in the U.S. Army during WWII. Throughout his life, Mr. Holt worked as a farmer and carpenter but will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and faithful founding member of Kingston Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Jasmine Todd Holt of the home; two sons, Jerry Edward Holt and wife, Carolyn and Glenn Holt and wife, Jan all of Longs; one daughter, Rita Holt Conner and husband, Raymond of Conway; one brother, Talmadge “T.L.” Holt of Conway; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
    In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was predeceased by two brothers, Oscar and Wilson Joseph “W.J.” Holt and his sister, Esta Mae “Macie” McDowell.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Kingston Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Black officiating. Committal services followed at Grainger Cemetery.
