Kenneth H. Jordan: Tabor City

    Kenneth H. Jordan of Tabor City died Monday, Dec. 30 in the Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville. He was 79.
    Born April 2, 1934, he was the son of the late Daniel Hosea Jordan and Mary Harrelson Jordan.
    Mr. Jordan was a graduate of Tabor City High School and enrolled at Guilford College and then transferred to UNC Chapel Hill where he received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degrees. He then attended John Hopkins University and the University of New Mexico where he received a Master Degree from each. He was a history professor and was a member of the first faculty at Southeastern Community College. He later moved to Maryland and taught at Catonsville Community College until his retirement when he returned to his home in Tabor City.
    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Mace Jordan, and sisters, Ruth Jordan Miller and Mable Jordan Grainger Parks.
    Mr. Jordan is  survived by three nieces and five nephews.
    A graveside service was planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Spivey Cemetery, Tabor City with visitation at the cemetery following the service.
