Homer McNeil Chestnut: Longs
Homer McNeil Chestnut of Longs passed away Monday, Feb. 17 at his home following an illness. He was 63.
Born on Aug. 14, 1950 in Loris, he was the son of Mrs. Dorothy Buck Chestnut and the late Mr. Austin Mack Chestnut. Mr. Chestnut was an electrician, he loved to fish and was a Master Mason with Loris Lodge #205 AFM. He was a member of Mt. Leon Baptist Church but will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
In addition to his mother of Aynor, Mr. Chestnut is survived by his loving wife, Deloris Cheers Chestnut of the home; his children, Brad Chestnut and Michelle Chestnut, both of Longs; his grandson, Austin Chestnut; one brother, Joseph M. Chestnut and wife, Lori of Conway, and sister, Patricia Lynn Chestnut Herring and husband, Darby of Longs.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at Mt. Leon Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Singleton officiating. Committal services followed at Buck Creek Cemetery.
