Columbus waives 5 of 8 school days lost to winter weather
By DEUCE NIVEN
Five of the eight days Columbus County Schools’ students have lost to winter storms in January and February will be waived, with one of the three make-up days tacked on to the end of the school year, Supt. Alan Faulk said Tuesday.
Previously scheduled teacher work days on Feb. 21 and March 28 were declared make-up days after the January storm, and remain, Faulk said. June 13, a Friday that was to have been graduation day for the county’s high schools, will also be a school day, Faulk said. Individual high schools will make the decision on holding graduation on Saturday, June 14 or Monday, June 16, Faulk said.
