Puckette Walden Wooten: Loris

Puckette Walden Wooten of Loris died Monday, March 10 at McLeod Loris Hospital following an extended illness. She was 89.
Born on April 13, 1924 in Scottsburg, Va., she was the daughter of Charles Edward Walden, Sr. and Florence Crews Walden. Mrs. Wooten was a part owner and bookkeeper of an auto parts store in Shallotte and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Loris.
Survivors include her three sisters, Evelyn W. McDaniel of Lenoir City, Tenn., Grey W. Ritchie of Richmond, Va., and Lany W. McDonald of Raleigh; two brothers, Samuel Crews Walden and wife, Diana of Johns Island, SC and Charles Edward Walden, Jr. of Camden, SC and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wooten was predeceased by her husband, Howard Stewart Wooten.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15 at the First Presbyterian Church of Loris with Pastor Dr. Tim Osment and Reverend Dr. Billy Moore officiating and committal services following at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
