Mary Alice Causey Porter: Loris

Mary Alice Causey Porter or Loris passed away Wednesday, March 19 at Agape Rehabilitation of Conway following a brief battle with cancer. She was 51.
Mrs. Porter was born Oct. 15, 1962 in Loris to Olin Junior “O.J.” Causey and Flossie Carter Causey. Mrs. Porter was of the Baptist faith. She was a loyal twenty year employee of the former Escod Industries, now Midcon Cables of North Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Porter loved to garden and collect rocks from her travels and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
Survivors include her father of Loris, her husband, Marshall J. Porter of the home; daughter, Melissa Cartrette Todd and husband, Timmy of Loris; two sons, Jerry Cartrette of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jody Cartrette of Lincolnton, NC; four brothers, Paul Causey and wife, Jean, Randy Causey and wife, Louise, Dale Causey and wife, Donna all of Charlotte, and Wilbur Causey of Loris; sister, Carolyn Page and husband, Johnny of Conway; granddaughter, Nevaeh Cartrette of Lincolnton, NC, two grandsons, Eli Cartrette of Lincolnton, NC and Hunter Cartrette of Knoxville, Tenn., a special step-mother, Myrtle Watson of Loris; and many other family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and a niece.
Mrs. Porter was predeceased by her mother, Flossie Carter Causey and her granddaughter, Sophia Cartrette.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Bill Harrill and Reverend Kevin Lambert officiating. Committal services followed at Holly Hill Cemetery.
