Gunshot strikes Loris man

By DEUCE NIVEN

Gunfire near Maple Street left a Loris man injured and police looking for information Monday night, Loris Police Chief Joseph Vaught said.
Lavond Daniels, 57, was a visitor in the mobile home located on Railroad Street at Maple Street when he was struck by “at least” one bullet about 9 p.m. Monday, Vaught said.
“He had at least one gunshot wound to the upper body,” Vaught said.
Paramedics from Horry County Fire Rescue rushed Daniels from the home to a nearby helicopter for a quick flight to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, Vaught said.
Daniels is expected to survive his injury, Vaught said.
