Stolen Georgetown sheriff’s car stopped near TC

By DEUCE NIVEN
After an 80-mile ride on three rims, a Georgetown County Sheriff’s patrol car was stopped by Columbus County and Tabor City officers just west of Tabor City Sunday morning, TCPD Capt. Russell Conway said.
A mental health patient from Georgetown County, still wearing hospital scrubs, was pulled from the marked car, its blue lights flashing, after Columbus County Sheriff’s Office deputies performed a rolling road-block, bringing the long chase to a successful conclusion on NC 904 near Willoughby Road, Conway said.
Loaded onto a P&C Wrecker Service rollback, the car, with obvious damage, was soon on its way back to Georgetown.
