J. P. Graham: Loris

Joseph Payne “J. P.” Graham of Loris passed away Monday, June 9, at McLeod Loris hospital following an illness. He was 85.
Mr. Graham was born August 22, 1928 in Loris, the son of Mack Dozier Graham and Mamie Velma Small Graham. Mr. Graham was a retired farmer and worked with Carolina Linen Systems for eighteen years. He was a dedicated member of Dogwood Hill Baptist Church but will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marie Hardee Graham of the home; one son, W. Ray Graham and wife, Diana of Loris; a daughter, Brenda Joyce Graham Fowler and husband, Lonnie of Loris; a sister, Willa Gray Sarvis of Sumter; four grandchildren, Jaime Fowler Berlowitz and husband, Bryan, Michael Fowler and wife, Ruth, Belinda Graham Hoffman and husband, Jon-Paul and Ryan Dale Graham; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler Long, Samantha, Gage and Jon-Ashton Hoffman, Christian Berlowitz and Kait, Madi and Belle Johnson.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Graham was predeceased by his two brothers, Liston B. Graham and Lacy Lane “Shorty” Graham and two sisters, Reba Soles and Pearl Mishoe.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Dogwood Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Floyd and Reverend Kyle Powell officiating. Committal services followed at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
