Ruby Bartell Moore: Loris

    Ruby Bartell Moore of Loris passed away Wednesday, July 2, at Loris Extended Care Facility following an illness. She was 73.
    Born on Feb. 10, 1941 in Indiantown, she was the daughter of Mr. Liston Hampton Bartell and Mrs. Ruby Brown Bartell.
    Mrs. Moore graduated from Columbia College  and was the co-owner of Gateway Drug Store with her husband until their retirement. She was a former Elder and faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Loris, the Loris Music and Literary Club and the Loris Bridge Club but will be most remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
    Survivors include her husband, Thomas Freddie Moore of the home; one son, Dr. Richard Hampton Moore and his wife, Jill of North Myrtle Beach; two grandsons, Drew and Gavin Moore both of North Myrtle Beach and one sister, Kathleen Graham and husband, Clarendon of Methodist Manor in Florence.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was predeceased a son, Thomas Michael “Tommy” Moore; by her brother, J. H. Bartell and one sister, Syble Bartell Smith.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 3 at Hardwick Funeral Home.
    Memorial services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, July 4 at the First Presbyterian Church of Loris with Pastor Dr. Tim Osment officiating. Committal services were to be private.
