Clovie Strickland Ward: Tabor City

Clovie Strickland Ward of Tabor City died Thursday, July 10, in her daughter’s home in Loris. She was 79.
Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Ilee Prince Strickland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph “RD” Ward; and two sisters, Hazel Grainger and Theola Prince Stanley.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Allen Ward and wife Donna of Tabor City; one daughter, Wanda Ward Todd and husband Edward of Loris; four grandchildren: Jeremy Todd, Brandon Todd, Matt Ward, Leigh Ann Ward Smith; six great-grandchildren, Avery Todd, Jay Dalton Todd, Bella Smith, Walker Smith, Meila Smith, Anniston Smith; and special nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ward was a member of Carolina Baptist Church, Green Sea.
Funeral Services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, in the Inman & Ward Funeral Home Chapel in Tabor City, with burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
Visitation was planned for one hour prior to the service in the Inman & Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
