Minnie Graham Johnson: Loris

    Minnie Graham Johnson of Loris passed away Sunday, July 27, at Agape Hospice of Conway following an illness. She was 96.
    Mrs. Johnson was born March 19, 1918 in Loris, a daughter of the late Memory E. and Helen Chestnut Graham. She worked with the Horry County Board of Voter Registration and was a longtime member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her son, Harry (Pi) Johnson, Sr. of Chapin; her daughter, Elena Hendrix of Columbia; three grandchildren, James Johnson, Jr. of Murrells Inlet, Shawn Hendrix of Greensboro, and Teresa (Steve) Carter of Greenwood; and four great-grandchildren, Noah and Rachel Carter, Wallace Johnson and Brandon Hendrix.
    Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, L. Hicks Johnson; an infant daughter, Kitty Johnson; two grandchildren, Renee Sharpe and Brunson Hendrix, III; two brothers, Alton and Cecil Graham; and three sisters, Eula Graham, Fannie Jordan and Leona Eason.
    The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Agape Hospice in Conway and Mrs. Johnson’s special friends, Jane Martin, Phyllis Faircloth and Michael and Nicole Murphy for their compassionate care and friendship.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Reverend John Forbes and Reverend John Watts officiating. Committal services followed at Red Oak Cemetery.
