Bessie Margolis Schild: Hollywood, Fla.

    Bessie Margolis Schild, a Tabor City resident from 1947 through 1970, passed away in Hollywood, Florida on July 27, following a long battle with dementia. She was 98.
    Mrs. Schild and her husband, the late Albert Schild, owned and operated Schild’s Department Store, a clothing store in Tabor City. They reared two children in Tabor City, and loved living in the area. They enjoyed their many friends and customers.
    Mrs. Schild closed the store after her husband died, and moved to Hollywood, Florida in 1970.
    She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Weber and Nanette Raska; son in-law, David Raska; and grandchildren Audrey Phillips and husband Mitchell, Andrew Raska and wife Melanie, and Jeffrey Raska. She was also given the gift of great grandchildren who are Jacob, Max, and Aaron Phillips.
    Mrs. Schild was brought home to North Carolina and buried next to her husband and most of her family following an 11 a.m. graveside service on Wednesday, July 30, at B’Nai Israel Cemetery in Wilmington.
