Lila Faye (Fowler) Rhodes: High Point

    Lila Faye (Fowler) Rhodes joined her Lord and Savior on Friday, Aug. 22, at High Point Regional Hospital. She was 78.
    She was the loving wife of the late David L. Rhodes.
    Mrs. Rhodes was born Feb. 18, 1936 in Loris, a daughter of the late Porter Fair and Jennie Bell (Soles) Fowler. She was a resident of High Point, from 1955 until 2012. When her health began to decline she resided with her daughter in Archdale.
    She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. In her spare time she enjoyed playing BINGO, listening to gospel music and preaching, doing word searches, but most importantly, spending time with her family.
    Mrs. Rhodes is survived by a son, Eddie L. Rhodes and his wife, Benita of Loris; two daughters, Debbie R. Bowman and her husband, Joe of Archdale and Shelia R. Gray of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Brittany Puckett of Thomasville, Travis Bowman of Archdale, and Nathaniel Rhodes of Trinity; one great grandchild, Landon Pearson of Thomasville; four sisters, Geneva Lawson of Emerson, Lola Sykes of Greensboro, Mearl Fowler of Loris, and Pat Carlisle and her husband, Gary of Jacksonville, Florida; three brothers, Bill Fowler of Loris, Nick Fowler of Tabor City, and Eugene Fowler and his wife, Terry of Loris; and several nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Mack, Tim, Dan and Joe Dale Fowler.
     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road, Archdale.
    A celebration of life service was planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with Rev. Raleigh Hayden officiating and burial following in Floral Garden Park Cemetery, High Point.
