Loris Extended Care to be sold

By DEUCE NIVEN

Loris Extended Care Center will have new owners by the end of this month, a McLeod Health spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday.
Though the purchase of the 88-bed facility by Darlington based Wilson Senior Care has not been finalized, the “transition in ownership” is expected to take place on Saturday, Sept. 27, McLeod Health Vice President for Communications and Public Information Jumana Swindler said.
Swindler described Wilson as “an experienced company,” adding that “the long-term care needs of those in our community will continue to be met, and the facility will continue to staff qualified people to care for our residents.
“At McLeod Health, we will work closely with all staff affected during the transition of ownership.”
