Betty Louise Long Green: Loris

Betty Louise Long Green of Loris passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22 at her home following an illness. She was 65.
Mrs. Green was born Feb. 23, 1949 in Conway, a daughter of the late Mr. Marvin David Long and the late Mrs. Eula Hardee Long.
Mrs. Green was a retired hairdresser and a dedicated member of Springfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and decorating, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her daughter and grandsons. Mrs. Green will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, George Gary Green of the home; her daughter, Angie Bessant Thompson and husband, Russell, of Loris; two stepsons, Anthony Green and Timothy Green, both of Wilminton; grandsons, Bailey Alexander Thompson and Christopher Aaron Thompson, both of Loris; four brothers, M.D. Long and wife Linda Faye, of Loris, Charles Long and wife, Earlene, of Loris, Douglas Long of Loris and Wendell Long and wife, Molly, of Loris; and four sisters, Carolyn Long Suta and husband, Henry, of Westminster, Colorado, Eulee “Lucy” Long of Loris, Margaret Long Chestnut of Loris and Sylvia Long Jones and husband, Thomas, of Aynor.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was predeceased by her first husband, Mr. David Bessant; three brothers, Thurmond, Donald and Herman Long and a sister, Dalma Lee Long.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at Springfield Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Slomka, Rev. Bill Thompson and Rev. Mack Hutson officiating, committal services following at Antioch Cemetery.
