Mary Beth Smith Barbour: North Charleston
Mary Beth Smith Barbour of North Charleston passed away Saturday, Oct. 25 at White Oak Manor in North Charleston following an illness. She was 75.
Born on Feb. 20, 1939 in Loris, she was the daughter of Jesse Burroughs Smith and Mary Gabriella Smith.
Survivors include her two sons, Harvey E. Barbour, III of Ridgeway, and John Barbour of North Charleston; two daughters, Cindy B. Lambert of Barnwell, and Lori B. Coger of North Charleston; one sister, Vera Leigh of Loris; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barbour was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Everett Barbour, Jr.; four brothers, William Alvin Smith, Lanford Zacheus Smith, Sr., John Thomas Smith and TyBea Smith and three sisters, Inez S. Benton, Sarah S. Woods and Sybil Thompson.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Sweet Home Baptist Church, Loris. Committal services followed in Buck Creek Cemetery with Pastor Scott Seckman officiating the service.
