Sarah Lilly Johnson: Nichols

Sarah Lilly Johnson of Nichols, passed away Friday, Nov. 21 at her home following an illness. She was 79.
Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 9, 1934 in Mullins, a daughter of the late Mr. Mayberry Gordon Johnson and the late Mrs. Margaret Dawsey Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson was a retired phlebotomist with Greenville Hospital System and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church but will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Henry Johnson of the home; one son, Rick Johnson and wife, Fran of Moncks Corner; two daughters, Sarah “Sally” McGonnigal and husband, Howatt of Cumming, Georgia and Lillian Rebecca “Becky” Johnson-Huggins of Socastee; seven loving grandchildren, Richard McGonnigal, Elizabeth Brown, Patrick McGonnigal, Mark Johnson, Stephanie Johnson, Julia Johnson and Shelley Huggins; five loving great-grandchildren, Madeline McGonnigal, Gavin McGonnigal, Kaitlyn McGonnigal, Nolan Brown and Christian Brown; two brothers, Lehman Johnson and wife, Frances and Albert Johnson, all of Nichols; and three sisters, Kay Mauricourt and husband, James of Dunwoody, Georgia and Rose Ventura and Genell Owens, both of Greenville, SC.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by her brother, Richard Gordon Johnson.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Kirkland officiating. Committal services followed at the Johnson Family Cemetery.
