James W. “Floyd” Anderson: Loris

James W. “Floyd” Anderson of Loris passed away Sunday, Nov. 30 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center following an illness. He was 81.
Mr. Anderson was born on Dec. 22, 1932 in Columbus County, a son of the late Mr. James Jefferson Anderson, Sr. and Mrs. Rebecca Isadora Williamson Anderson.
Mr. Anderson served his country with honor and courage in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home, he worked as a farmer and in construction but will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Mr. Anderson was of the baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Georgiana Anderson of the home; four sons, Rev. Alex Evan Anderson and wife, Kimberly of Bradenton, Florida, Christian Anderson and wife, Jennifer of Loris, Dr. A. Shane Anderson and wife, Stephanie of Greensboro, and Estley Anderson and wife, Rebecca of Myrtle Beach; one daughter, LaRinda Massey and husband, Todd of Loris; 14 loving grandchildren; three loving great-grandchildren; his brother, James Jefferson Anderson, Jr. and wife, Margaret of Loris and two sisters, Margaret A. Mincey of Longs, and Mary Strickland and husband, Roger of Loris.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Ross Altman officiating. Committal services followed at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
