John Barry Mills: Tabor City
John Barry Mills of Tabor City passed away Monday, Dec. 15. He was 64.
Born Dec. 2, 1950 in Loris, he was a son of Doris W. and the late Joseph Lynwood Mills.
Mr. Mills was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, the late Wilbur Wright and Elvie G. Wright; his paternal grandparents, John L. and Beulah Coleman Mills, and his father, Joseph Lynwood Mills.
A graduate of Tabor City High School, Barry attended Wingate College and worked for several years at E. I. DuPont in Leland before joining his family’s jewelry business, The Jewelry Tree. He loved to fish and hunt and truly enjoyed God’s gift of the great outdoors.
In addition to his mother of Tabor City, he is survived by his son, Chris Mills, of Ocean Isle Beach; daughter, Blair Mills of Lumberton; brothers Dr. Mike Mills and wife Barbara and Dr. Chuck Mills and wife Kim, all of Loris; aunt, Drucilla Josephs (Bill) of Loris; several nieces and nephews; and his special love Juanita Jordan and her family.
Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City. The family planned to receive friends after the service at the graveside.

The family expresses sincere gratitude to Dr. Emily Touloukian and staff at the Coastal Cancer Center and the staff at Loris Rehab and Nursing Center for the compassionate care they provided Barry during his illness.
