Wilbur Luther Carter: Longs

Wilbur Luther Carter of Longs, passed away Sunday, Dec. 14 at Vibra Hospital of Charleston following an illness. He was 77.
Born on Nov. 29, 1937 in Longs, he was the son of Mr. John L. Carter and Mrs. Annie Mae Carter.
Mr. Carter retired from the state highway department where he worked as a machine operator and was a lifetime member of Mt. Leon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Kay West Carter of the home; two sons, Anthony W. Carter and wife, Danette and Eston C. Carter and wife, Janice all of Longs; four grandchildren, Madison, Dayton and Weston Carter and Rylee Thompson and one sister, Versie West and husband “J.T.” of Loris, SC.
Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Mt. Leon Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Steven Tyler and Reverend Lebron Crisp officiating.
