Robbery suspect IDd on Facebook: HCPD

By DEUCE NIVEN

An armed robbery victim says he and his wife were able to identify one suspect on Facebook, Lt. Raul Denis of the Horry County Police Department said Wednesday.
His name omitted from the HCPD report released by Denis, the 24-year-old Tabor City resident told police that he stopped to assist what appeared to be a disabled motorist in a red car on Morgan Road near Riverbend Road just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. That man pulled a handgun and demanded “everything he had,” the report said. The victim handed over $220 from his front pocket, and as another motorist passed by two men who were with the robber called him “Kevin,” the report said.
The victim said he had seen the robber “around town,” but did not know him.
Later, the victim called police, saying that he and his wife had located the robber on Facebook, and he was 100 percent able to identify him.
Police continue their investigation, Denis said.
