Miles Thomas Waddell: Loris

    Miles Thomas Waddell of Loris, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30. He was 17.
    Miles was born in Conway, a son of Tommy Lee Waddell and Myra J. Gore.  He was free spirited and had a great sense of humor.  Miles was a loving son who loved his parents, grandparents, and brothers very much. Matthew and Christopher were the best brothers he could ever ask for.  He was devoted to Loris First Baptist Church where he served in the Youth Choir and Youth Alive.  Miles was an Honor Student at Loris High School.  He played JV and Varsity Football during his freshman, sophomore, and junior years and lettered all three years.  Miles received the Outstanding Youth Award which was presented by the Loris Chamber of Commerce in 2014.  He was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and served as Junior Vice President and Historian for the FFA.  Miles was a black belt in karate.  
    He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Lee Waddell and paternal grandfather, Rev. Elbert L. Waddell.
    Survivors include his father, Tommy Lee Waddell of Loris; his mother, Myra J. Gore and her husband Donnie of Conway; brother, Matthew J. Waddell and his wife Emily of Conway; paternal grandmother, Irene Worley Waddell of Whiteville; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Dollie Todd of Conway; two uncles, Dr. Bobby D. Waddell of Whiteville, and Terry Collins and his wife Kathryn of Glen Allen, Virginia; three aunts, Debra J. Holcomb, Sandra G. Ward and her husband Harold,  all of Whiteville, and Karen Stevens and her husband Mitchell of Loris; cousins, Cheox, Zack, Laura, Julia, Kyle, Josh, Ashley, Mandy, Gina, Cassie, Matthew, and Dakota; and a special cousin, Jason.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at Loris First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby D. Waddell and Rev. Hunter Johnson officiating, burial following in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.
