Lucille B. Hardee: Loris

    Lucille B. Hardee of Loris passed away Sunday, Jan. 11. She was 79.
    Mrs. Hardee was born in Clarkton, a daughter of the late Solomon C. Brown and the late Deaette Miller Brown. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wonderful homemaker and enjoyed working in her rose garden.
    Mrs. Hardee loved baseball, going to all Loris High School sporting events, and was a big supporter of Loris Recreation and Loris High School athletics. She was a long-time member of Loris First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
    Mrs. Hardee was predeceased by her husband, Roy Lee Hardee, Jr.; her son, Stephen Hardee; two brothers, Lethridge Brown and Ed Brown; and one brother-in-law, Elbert Tyler.
    Survivors include her daughter, Abby H. Cox; her daughter-in-law, Mary G. Hardee; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Hardee, Arin Cox, Jameson Hardee, John “Pooh” Hardee, and Tanner Cox; one brother, Fred Brown and his wife Sue; one sister, Patricia Tyler; and two sisters-in-law, Roselyn Brown and Kaye Brown.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Loris First Baptist Church with Dr. Louis Venable and Rev. Hunter Johnson officiating, with burial following in Twin City Memorial Gardens.
    The family will receive visitors at Mrs. Hardee’s home on Fox Bay Road in Loris.
