Ada Geneva McPherson: Clarendon

    Ada Geneva “Jean” Farmer McPherson of Clarendon died Tuesday, Jan. 13 in SECU Hospice Care Center, Smithfield. She was 77.
    She was born in Florence County and was the daughter of the late Liston and Ada Poston of Hannah.
    She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member Beaverdam OFWB Church and the ladies auxiliary. She was a devoted Christian and faithful servant of the Lord. She loved her family, friends and church. Jean was committed to helping others and supporting her community.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Thomas Cole Farmer Jr.; one brother, and four sisters.
    Jean has left behind her husband of 13 years James Howard McPherson of Clarendon; two sons, Andy M. Farmer and wife Vera of Pamplico, Allen Farmer and wife Sherri of West Lafayette, Indiana;  three daughters, Pam Hartfield and husband Tommy of Johnsonville, and Tammy Holland and husband Terry of Middlesex, Anglea Sullivan and husband Tommy of Smithfield; twelve grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, six step children and 14 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, one brother and four sisters.  
    She was loved and will be missed by her family, friends and loved ones.
    Family planned to visitors at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at Beaverdam OFWB Church. Funeral services were planned for noon in the church.
    Graveside services were planned for approximately 2:30 p.m. in Stevens Chapel FWB Cemetery at 7856 Elevation Road, Benson.
    In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the SECU Hospice House, Smithfield, NC or to Alzheimers Foundation of America 1305 Navaho Dr. # 101 Raleigh, NC 27609 in Jean Farmer McPherson’s memory.
