Matha Armstrong Ward: Wilmington
Matha “Matt” Armstrong Ward of Wilmington died Monday, Jan. 12 in Wilmington. He was 46.
Born Dec. 6, 1968 in Horry County, he was the son of Vance LeVerne Ward of Loris, and Judy Coleman Caines of Tabor City.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his significant other, Robin Dorsey of the home; stepfather, J.C. “Buddy” Caines of Tabor City; stepmother, LeJeune Hardee Ward of Loris; three brothers, CW4 Rev. David LeVerne Ward and wife Jennifer of Nashville, Tennessee, Christopher L. Ward and wife Oliva of Loris, Casey V. Ward and wife Jada of Loris; one nephew, Vance Ward of Loris; one niece, Hadley Ward of Loris.
Matt was a member of Wilmington First Baptist Church and was employed by DeHaven’s Transfer & Storage Company in Wilmington. He was also a devoted Carolina Tarheel Fan.
A graveside service was planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 in the Coleman Cemetery, Tabor City, with the family receiving friends after the service at the graveside.
