Redgie Prentis Pope: Loris

Redgie Prentis Pope of Loris passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, at WakeMed Hospital following a sudden illness. He was 59.
Mr. Pope was born on Aug. 3, 1955 in Lumberton, a son of the late Mr. Julius Pope and the late Mrs. Clara Mae Overstreet Pope. Mr. Pope worked as a truck driver for Ford’s Fuel Service for 22 years and most recently with Blue Mountain Transport and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Pope, of the home; his son, David Pope of Loris; his daughter, Crystal Lynn Lawton and husband, Frank of Loris; one loving grandson, Caleb Stalvey of Loris; his sister, Gennel Walters and husband, Jimmy of Clarkton; and two nephews, James West and wife, Mary and Kenny Walters and wife, Donna, all of North Carolina.
A memorial service was planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Earl Spivey, Jr. officiating.
The family planned to receive friends for one hour prior to service at Hardwick Funeral Home.
