Queta Vae Sides Buffkin: Loris
Queta Vae Sides Buffkin of Loris, age 79, passed away Friday, Jan. 16 at her home following an illness. She was 79.
Born February 18, 1935 in Maiden, she was a daughter of Reverend Haskell L. Sides and Mrs. Lois Marie Cook Sides.
Mrs. Buffkin retired from Regal Tools and was a member of Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two sons, David Buffkin and Steve Buffkin; one daughter, Brenda Stevens; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Richard Sides of Lincolnton, Sankey Sides of Denver, Billy Sides of Concord, and Danny Sides of Lenoir; three sisters, Mickie Graham of Loris, Linda Reel of Iron Station, and Loreta Atkins of Lincolnton; special family friend, Barbara Barnhill and special caregivers, Vi Norris and Hedy Riggins.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Buffkin was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Lester Buffkin and three brothers, Harold, Roney and Haskell Sides.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19 at Hardwick Funeral Home.
Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Reverend Earl Elvis officiating.
