Lorinda Gaye Grantham Alford: Loris

Lorinda Gaye Grantham Alford of Loris passed away Saturday, Jan. 17 at her home following a sudden illness. She was 54.
Born on March 7, 1960 in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Monroe Dudley Grantham, Sr. and the late Laura Kathern Heath Grantham.
Mrs. Gaye was a loving homemaker and of the Baptist faith but will be most remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her four children, Justin Alford and wife, Ashton, Dana Griffin and husband, John and Sabrina Alford, all of Loris, and Christy Thompson and husband, Brad of Conway; their father, Charlie Alford of Loris; four grandchildren, Kali, Kadien and Jaci Griffin and Connor Thompson; three brothers, Randal Cox and wife, Annie of Burlington, Kenny Cox of Fayetteville, and Monroe Dudley Grantham, Jr. and wife, Princess of Tabor City, and two sisters, Kathy Powell and husband, Franklin of Tabor City, and Melissa Ransom and husband, Charles of Clarkton.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Randal Cox officiating. Committal services followed at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
